For real.
Whenever I see an awesome dog on the street, I stare longingly at it, wishing I could throw it a tennis ball or give it some snausages or teach it cool tricks or at the very least, pat its head (I am totally not one of those people who asks to pet random strangers' dogs).
I sort of feel creepy when I do this. I'm not sure why. I guess because it's sort of weird to walk behind someone thinking to yourself, "Oh man I want this dog I want this dog I want this dog! What would happen if I just picked up this dog and ran away and then this great awesome dog would be mine? THIS DOG IS SO CUTE I LOVE IT."
And so on.
Although I imagine this is sort of similar to the way a lot of women feel when they're around babies. I totally lack that whole "my biological clock is ticking I WANT A BABY RIGHT NOW" feeling. Especially after riding the T today with a screaming child for 20 minutes. And I mean, full out shrieking to the point of nearly bursting everyone's eardrums and I'm pretty sure a few people actually got off the train early because it was so bad.
But dogs? I want one. And until I get one, which will probably not be for a long long time, I'm just going to be jealous of everyone else's. So, don't mind me staring.

I'm pretty sure I spend more time eyeing up people's dogs than I do their outfits or sometimes the scenery around me (cue walking into lightpole...). I don't mean to be creepy, but I love dogs and the idea of playing with them, petting them, getting loved by them, etc. I don't usually ask to pet people's dogs, but I do like to ask what breed they are or comment on how lovely they are, which usually results in the owner being completely flattered and allowing me to do whatever i want with the dog short of taking it home with me.
You are not alone here my friend. Not alone at all. I'm sooo that person when I'm around cute dogs. They can sense my desperation too. It's like I walk into a room and the dogs go "oh crap, she's got puppy fever! Abort! Abort!" and they run away.
I know this feeling. Me and my sister were over in the Greek islands last week and the apartments we were staying at had the most adorable dog ever just hanging around - a tiny little white teddy bear-like dog called Linda (which is admittedly a weird name for a dog but whatever). I was seriously considering trying to smuggle her home, Unfortunately one of the guests made a complaint about her and she got taken away. So I never got to achieve my dog smuggling dream.
