This is a post about the "n" word

Yes, THAT one.

This is not a post about race relations or racism or really, anything of the sort.

This is a post about why I don't like the use of the "n" word in rap music.

Now, before you go doubting what I said about this post not being about race, hear me out. The reason I don't like the presence of the "n" word in rap music is because it interrupts my flow when I sing along.

I AM SERIOUS. Shut up.

You see, even in the context of song lyrics I still don't feel comfortable saying the "n" word because I neither a) want to offend anyone nor b) want to get punched. And thus, when I'm rapping along to any one of the many songs out there that have that word in it, it produces awkward pauses and throws me off and otherwise detracts from my rapping experience.

If people would stop putting that word in songs I wouldn't have this problem. I'm looking at you, Busta/Kanye/Dre/Snoop/Biggie/Lil Wayne/2Pac etc etc ET FREAKIN CETERA. I don't care if you're dead. Have your estate take care of it. There are many of us aspiring rappers out there who will thank you...by yelling your songs in the shower, at parties, or even while walking down the street, butchering them with our suburban ways.

You thought about this after playing that Rap Star game, didn't you?

Haha, I've never really listened to rap, so that's never been a problem for me. But it is a hilarious problem. Maybe YOU should start writing your own rap music. Problem solved!
