This is particularly unfortunate for me because fitted sheets are the only kind that I use. I grew up in a flat-sheet-less household and to this day I have no idea what the flat sheet is for. You are welcome to use the comment section to try and sell me on the flat sheet idea, but I promise you, I will never become a flat sheet user.
Seriously, though. How on earth do you make something look nice when it has crinkly elastic around the entire border? Every time I wash one of my sheets I put in a concerted effort to folding it and it always comes out looking like a big pile of ineptitude.
You find me someone who can properly fold a fitted sheet and I will find you Santa Claus or the messiah or someone else who simply does not exist. Or my grandma. While I happen to know that my grandma uses sheets that are fitted only at the corners and are thus much easier to fold, I bet she could fold one of my sheets. My grandma is the best folder I know. She is lightyears ahead of the second best folder I know, which is me. Every time I come home, my mom asks me to fold the laundry because I'm so excellent at it. True story.
I could probably get my grandma to teach me to fold my fitted sheets, except for the fact that she is far more patient and meticulous than I am and I am simply not prepared to spend the requisite 45 minutes that she would in order to get that sheet folded. So instead, I will live my life with fitted sheets that look like this:

Oh well.

You know what makes life easier? Not even TRYING to fold fitted sheets. In fact not even trying to fold pretty much ANYTHING and just leaving everything in a messy heap is just so much easier...
I don't know anyone would ever guess that I'm really very lazy.
I think I recall watching a youtube video on how to fold a fitted sheet ! I still couldn't get it but I am pretty sure if you really need to know I am sure it's there!
haha! I too hate that I can't fold fitted sheets. It drives me mad and they all end up looking like yours too. Don't worry, you're not alone.
Oh my God it's my biggest pet peeve.

Awesome. Seriously. That's how I feel every time I fold sheets. Which is why I now leave the fitted sheet to my hubby. So basically, we end up with a wadded sheet ball too.
I kind of figured out how to fold them. I kind of just fold them in half and curl the corners into the other corners. And then I kind of fold those over so that the rest of the thing kind of looks rectangular and then fold as if it was a normal sheet.
Yes, I realize that is a half-assed explanation. Yes, I realize you will probably never try it. And yes, my final product looks pretty much like yours so this is not at all helpful!
haha, i'm exactly the same way. i've gotten to the point where i just roll it into a ball and shove it in the corner, or i make sure to wash it right away and re-stretch it over the bed that same day. my fiance, on the other hand...may just be as good a folder as your grandma. i don't mean to brag or anything, but thank god he was in the navy. that government operation taught him how to fold anything and everything. he could probably fold pillows if he wanted to.
