Electric Daisy Carnival

Wednesday, May 22, 2013
This past weekend I went to the Electric Daisy Carnival, a 2 day festival of all things electronic music, dressing up like a weirdo, and dancing until your feet fall off.

I never envisioned myself getting into this kind of scene, and while I'm by no means an EDM expert (understatement, as I had only even heard of a few select DJs who were there), over the last few months I've grown to like a lot more of this crazy weird sounding music that often lacks words. To the point where, at 11pm on the 2nd day when the festival was over, I was legitimately sad to be leaving because, you guys, I HAD SO MUCH FUN.

It wasn't even the fact that I got to dress up, though I think I've made it pretty clear that wearing ridiculous outfits could be a full-time job of mine. Like these light up hoodies.

LIGHT UP HOODIES!!!

Or our daisy headbands

EDC was insanely fun because it was a collection of 20,000 of the nicest, happiest, most helpful people I've ever met. There was no anger, no drunken fighting, no drama. Just dancing and making new friends and everyone complimenting everyone else on their outfits. It felt like we were all part of one big family. And even when we left the festival and decided to go to a club and continue the EDM dance party, people inside saw our outfits and approached us to talk about it. "You just came from EDC!?! HOW WAS IT?" like we were best friends catching up on our weekends.

I'm totally obsessed and definitely want to go to more EDM festivals in the future. Besides, I need to get more use out of these furry legwarmers.
