I talk about books a lot on this blog. Actually, that might not be true. Occasionally I talk about books. Whatever.

According to Goodreads, I've read 65 books so far this year. This does not count the 3 Hunger Games books since I first read them last year and only reread them this year, nor does it count one of Peter Dewolf's books, since it isn't on Goodreads at all.

My necklace is back!!!

Apparently some amazing woman handed it in to the lost and found at the gym and I will never get to properly thank her.

Being a punk

I fully intended on writing a Stratejoy Monday post for today, but...I'm not. I'm punking out for this week.

On the one hand, I'm kind of like, "I've only written 2 posts and missed the 3rd? BOO HISS ON ME."

On the other hand, I've been writing these posts every Monday for the last 6 months and I never missed one while I was blogging over at Stratejoy. I'm only human. And one of the lessons I learned during my stint as a Stratejoy blogger is to stop being so hard on myself. So I'm ignoring my natural tendency to be disappointed in myself and just letting it go.

Besides, I'm still recovering from a crazy weekend in Ocean City, MD.

What I do want to talk about though, is the fact that I lost my favorite necklace. It was my go-to necklace, one that I bought for myself as a "first paycheck present" when I started my last job. I couldn't find it before I left for the weekend and I only now just realized where I think it is.

I'm pretty sure I left it in a locker at the gym. Last Wednesday.

So I guess when I said "lost," that's kind of not true because it is 100% my fault that I was an idiot and left my necklace there. But in my defense, when I got back to the locker room from my workout and was preparing to shower, a crazy old lady started a conversation with me about this that and the other thing and it devolved into her giving me a flyer about her pet videography business and since I'm not working right now (we really got into some personal stuff here) would I like to help her out using my fancy MBA skills and though she can't pay me now she totally will when she starts making money?

It got to the point where I couldn't extricate myself from the conversation and I didn't even have time to shower before going to meet Anny to see Newsies on Broadway. Which was adorable, by the way.

So I was distracted, is the point.

I'm going to call them tomorrow to see if maybe some nice person put it in the lost and found, but...yeah. Assuming it's gone forever. Bye bye, pretty necklace.

Ignore the sake bomb. Focus on the necklace. Sadness.
